Okay, let’s be blunt – tax season is here. W-2’s and 1099’s are on your desk or in your paperwork and it’s time to face the music. Are you actually ready to file or are you procrastinating? And if you are, when are you going to actually file?
April 15th is not going away and the holdups and wait times are only going to get longer.
So NOW is the time to grab the bull by the horns and simply get your taxes ready to file. What else do you need to gather? Are you waiting on one last 1099? Maybe putting off figuring out the mileage on the car or the total interest paid on your house?
My advice? Simply block off a day to go and get it done. In fact, a day is TOO long! Block off one Saturday morning, get up, and get on with it. The reality is, even the most disorganized taxpayer can likely get ALL their ducks in a row in no more than 3-4 hours.
Why not get it done early and take away the stress and worry of filing later in the Spring? Besides – it’s the winter time now – “going out” is overrated when it’s cold and dreary, but in a month or six weeks? It’s warming up, you’ll have cabin fever and the excuses will be piling up. Go ahead, get it done and then give me a call – you’ll be happy to have it off your plate.
